Great projects start
with great teams.

For over 35 years, AGC has supported infrastructure, energy, water and institutional reform programmes across Central and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Join AGC

A firm where engineering
carries weight.

AGC is not a new company. Founded in 1990 as Société Africaine d'Ingénierie, the firm built its experience at the heart of Central Africa, on the region's landmark projects. From 2007 to 2014, integration into the Fichtner GmbH & Co.KG group anchored engineering methods and a project culture that has shaped every engineer trained within our teams.

Since 2015, AGC has continued this trajectory in full independence — with the same rigour, the same standards, the same demands vis-à-vis international funders. Joining AGC means joining an institution that measures itself against Fichtner, Lahmeyer, Tractebel and Sweco on tenders — and has worked alongside them in the field.

What we offer is not an abstract career promise. It is direct exposure to projects that transform African infrastructure.

Legacy

SAI · 1990 — Founded in Kinshasa. 35 years of continuous presence on the sub-region's major energy and water programmes.

Fichtner SAI · 2007

Integration into the German Fichtner group. Technical standards, funder protocols, a rigorous project culture — passed down to every generation of AGC engineers.

Afrika German Consult · 2015

Full independence since 1 January 2015. The Fichtner DNA endures; the local footprint is irreplaceable. The firm now operates in 12 Sub-Saharan African countries.

What sets us apart

Why join AGC?

Four concrete reasons, no HR talk.

Strategically significant projects

You work on the programmes that shape access to energy, water and basic infrastructure. Not pilot projects — national programmes.

Energy · Water · Roads · Sector Reforms
Assignments with international funders

Our teams work for clients financed by the World Bank, AfDB, AFD, KfW and other technical and financial partners. Rare exposure.

WB · AfDB · AFD · KfW · EU · UNDP
Genuine professional development

Passing on know-how is core to our model. Senior engineers directly mentor junior teams in the field, not from an office.

Training · Mentorship · Field Work
A demanding, multicultural environment

Kinshasa, Brazzaville, and assignments in 12 Sub-Saharan African countries. Mixed teams, international counterparts, standards that apply everywhere.

DRC · Congo · Rwanda · Sub-Saharan Africa

Working with international funders.
